In 2016 the Nothin Dragon Masters team became the new co-benefactors, hosts, and organizers of the event. The Coquitlam based 50+ dragon boat team is made up of primarily seniors who refuse to sit idle. This diverse group, while dealing with the challenges associated with aging, aim to keep an active and healthy lifestyle. Not only does the club support close to 70 masters (male and female) athletes who compete throughout the year, they are also involved in the community and mentor challenged youth from the Tri-Cities in the sport of dragon boating. They also support the Riverside Secondary dragon boat team.  Learn more about the Nothin Dragon Masters HERE.

A unique, local charity that supports many important community projects, the Coquitlam Foundation will host the Community Diversity Fund so that grants can be made to aid community initiatives in perpetuity. Established by an Act of the B.C. Legislature, the Coquitlam Foundation was created in 1992 to help generous and compassionate citizens create enduring legacies in their community. With over 20 Designated Funds under administration, the Coquitlam Foundation generates more than $50,000 in earnings which are distributed each year to the community in the form of grants, bursaries, and scholarships. Families, businesses and agencies can create funds. Together with donors and residents, the Coquitlam Foundation encourages and supports creative, targeted philanthropy that builds a vibrant, sustainable and healthy community.

The Coquitlam Foundation is registered with Canada Revenue as a charitable organization, No. 890762347 RR0001. Donations can be made c/o P.O. Box 2, 1207 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam, B.C., Canada, V3B 7Y3, or through the Foundation’s website
