Kids’ Crunch Quest comes to 10th Annual Charity Event

On Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019 the Coquitlam Crunch Diversity Challenge turns 10!

To celebrate organizers are launching the Kids Crunch Quest as part of the Recreational (family) category.

The Crunch Quest provides motivation for kids or ‘children of all ages’ to complete the 2.2km loop of the trail and collect stamps at stations along the way, and a completed passport gets you a prize when presented at the bottom.

“The Coquitlam Crunch is a trail for all ages,”said event founder Alex Bell. “We want to encourage more families and children to take part in the event, and hiking supports a healthy lifestyle habit.”

The passport features 8 animal that could be seen along the Crunch: the eagle, bear, rabbit, raccoon, squirrel, coyote, cougar and the deer.

Registration is underway at coquitlamcrunch.com and is by donation for the Recreational category. All funds raised go to the Community Diversity Grant within the Coquitlam Foundation, supporting diversity groups in Coquitlam.

The Recreational category is ‘go at your own pace’ or work on your personal best! It also offers the option of being time-chipped so you can see your time for completing the loop.  Register online before Nov. 5 or show up on event-day to register from 9:15 a.m. onward. The Recreational has an official start at 10 a.m.  Factor in an hour, to an hour-and-a-half to complete the trail loop with little ones.

Collect stamps on the way up the Crunch, and down. When you get to the bottom, show your passport to receive a prize.

Organizers would like to thank Crunch Quest sponsors, Sandpiper Signs & Decals, FortisBC,  and the Crunch Quest designer, Brad Nickason.

Also supporting this years event is: New Earth Marketing, The Tri-City News, City of Coquitlam, Oddball Workshop Apparel, Coquitlam Chrysler, Fraser Health, FortisBC, Vancity, Trio Sports Events, BC Athletics, Eagle Ridge Chevrolet Buick GMC, Body by Brandt, Coquitlam Chrysler, lululemon, Pasta Pollo, Starbucks, and Thrifty Foods.
